VCs: Investments Will Increase In 2011 | Worcester Business JournalA new survey of venture capitalists predicts that 2011 will be a better year for companies looking for capital.
More than half (51%) of VCs predict that investments will pick up in 2011, according to a new survey conducted by the National Venture Capital Association and Dow Jones VentureSource.
VCs are also predicting that IT will be the hot industry, outpacing life sciences and cleantech.
The survey found that the public market is gaining confidence once again. Two-thirds of VCs predicted that more venture-backed companies will go public next year.
Overall economic outlook of VCs is optimistic as well. Sixty-three percent expect the U.S. economy to improve next year.
